Shiatsu & Massage Chair

Relaxation, stress reduction and bodily recovery

Shiatsu Massage Chair at Vuurdraak

At Vuurdraak, an advanced Shiatsu massage chair is used as part of a modern relaxation and wellbeing session. The chair combines various massage techniques, including shiatsu acupressure, 3D rolling massage, air compression, heat therapy and stretch programmes, to support the body in relaxation, recovery and general wellbeing.

Beforehand, the chair performs a body scan, so that the massage is automatically tailored to the user's body build. This creates a personal and comfortable experience in which almost the entire body is included.

This method is widely used to promote relaxation, reduce muscle tension and create moments of calm during periods of physical or mental strain.

Shiatsu massage and body-oriented relaxation

Shiatsu is one of the techniques applied in the massage chair. The combination of rolling movements, kneading massage, acupressure stimulation and compression techniques ensures that the body is approached in an even and comfortable way.

Many people experience the session as supportive for:

  • Relaxation of the back, neck and shoulder muscles
  • Reduction of stress and tension
  • Promotion of calm and wellbeing
  • Enhancing body awareness
  • Supporting moments of recovery after physical or mental exertion
  • Creating a moment for yourself, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life

Advanced massage techniques

The chair has various functions that together provide a complete relaxation experience.

3D Shiatsu massage

The massage rollers move not only up and down along the spine, but can also adjust to the body more deeply or more superficially. This allows the massage to range from gently relaxing to firmer and more intense, depending on personal preference.

Air pressure massage

Air cushions around the shoulders, arms, hips, calves and feet rhythmically fill with air and then release again. This technique creates a pleasant compression massage that supports the feeling of relaxation.

Foot reflex massage

Beneath the feet are special massage elements that stimulate the soles of the feet. Many users experience this as a particularly relaxing part of the session.

Heat therapy

Built-in heat at the level of the back provides extra comfort and contributes to a pleasant relaxation experience.

Stretch and mobility programmes

Special programmes move the body in a gentle way, so that the back, hips and legs are carefully stretched and mobilised.

Full body massage

From neck to feet, almost the entire body is included in the massage, creating a complete wellness experience.

Fully adjustable – tailored to each part of the body

The massage chair offers extensive adjustment options and can be tuned to personal preferences, comfort and resilience.

In addition to full-body programmes, the chair can be applied in a targeted way to specific body areas, such as:

  • Back and lower back
  • Neck, shoulders and upper back
  • Arms and hands
  • Hips and pelvic area
  • Thighs and calves
  • Feet

The intensity can be adjusted from very gentle to more intense, depending on the wishes and resilience of the user.

Zero Gravity position – deep relaxation and relief for the body

An important feature of the chair is the so-called Zero Gravity position. In this posture, the body is positioned so that the weight is distributed more evenly and the pressure on muscles, joints and the spine is reduced.

This position is experienced by many people as particularly comfortable and relaxing, and it can contribute to:

  • Relaxation of the back and lower back
  • Reduction of physical tension
  • Calmer and deeper breathing
  • A feeling of calm and weightlessness
  • General relaxation of the body

Approach within the practice

The Shiatsu massage chair is used as part of a broader relaxation and wellbeing session. Depending on the situation, the chair can be used as a standalone session, in preparation for a treatment or as a complement to other relaxation-oriented methods within Vuurdraak.

The chair is regularly combined with:

  • Sound Therapy
  • Phonophoresis
  • Fire cupping
  • Relaxation sessions
  • Breathing and awareness exercises

The focus is always on comfort, safety, relaxation and personal attunement.

It regularly happens that clients reach a deep state of relaxation during the treatment. Some even doze off for a moment or fall calmly asleep. You will certainly not be the first to do so. Sometimes that very capacity to let go completely is exactly what body and mind need. In a world that constantly demands attention, a moment of true rest can be surprisingly valuable.

Contraindications

Use of the massage chair is discouraged, or applied only after consultation with a doctor, in cases including:

  • Pregnancy
  • Pacemaker or other implanted electronic devices
  • Serious cardiovascular disease
  • Acute injuries or inflammation
  • Recent surgery
  • Thrombosis or an increased risk of it

  • Bone fractures or unstable joints
  • A herniated disc or serious back problems in the acute phase
